About Little Red Hen Films

Natalie is a multidisciplinary documentary filmmaker based in East London.

With a background as a Script Supervisor in film, TV, and high-end commercials, she founded Little Red Hen Films to apply her filmmaking skills to make films for good causes.

Natalie began her career in New York, working on independent films and at the Tribeca Film Festival. In 2006, she moved to London, where she continued her work in the film industry. Over nearly two decades as a Script Supervisor, she worked on 25 feature films, more than 40 episodes of television—including Top Boy and Catastrophe—and over 350 high-end commercials for brands such as Nike and Virgin.

In recent years, Natalie has expanded into directing and editing, focusing on purpose-driven documentary film projects with a social conscience. She recently edited the independent feature film Power Station, which premiered at Sheffield DocFest. The documentary follows two artist-activists in Walthamstow as they launch a grassroots solar energy movement, turning their street into a prototype for community-led climate action.

Charities We Love

At Little Red Hen Films, we believe in using storytelling to shine a light on causes that matter. Our filmmaking is grounded in empathy, social justice, and a desire to make meaningful change. But we don't just tell stories—we take action too.

Helping Refugees

When the refugee crisis came to the forefront in 2015, Natalie became actively involved in grassroots support efforts in both France and the UK. She helped coordinate Caravans for Refugees in Walthamstow, providing temporary shelter for vulnerable people living in the Calais refugee camp known as The Jungle.

In collaboration with Mobile Refugee Support and Phone Credit for Refugees, she led a campaign that collected over 1,000 smartphones for unaccompanied minors in Calais before the camp was dismantled—providing a vital lifeline for young people facing extreme vulnerability.

Closer to home, Natalie supported refugee mothers and their babies in London by coordinating donations of essential items. Little Red Hen is also a proud supporter of Stories and Supper, a Walthamstow-based initiative helping refugees share their stories, connect with the community, and build new lives.

Local & Global

We support a range of causes that reflect our values: compassion, creativity, community, and equity.

We're proud supporters of Power Station, a grassroots solar energy movement in Walthamstow that's turning streets into prototypes for community-led climate action—a testament to community spirit and resilience in making change together.

Natalie is a weekly contributor to 500 Reasons, a brilliant grassroots project that gives away £500 each week to someone in need—no questions asked. She adopted her dog through Wild at Heart Foundation, which supports rescue and rehoming efforts around the world.

Other causes close to our hearts include Contact the Elderly, helping combat loneliness in older people; Lendwithcare, a microfinance initiative supporting entrepreneurs in developing countries; arts education and creativity in schools; environmental sustainability; and campaigns to end global poverty.
